I am out on sick leave today...caught the local crud that's going around I guess. Ashley is in the office today, but anyone seeking 310 permits from Thursday's board meeting will have to wait til tomorrow. I'll be mailing/emailing them out in the morning when I'm back in the office. In the meantime, it's tea and toast and naps for me. The next regular board meeting of the Lewis & Clark Conservation District Board of Supervisors will take place February 11, 2016 at 1 pm in the USDA Service Center Conference Room, 790 Colleen Street, Helena MT 59601. Due to the fact that the January meeting was cancelled, the board will be reviewing and hopefully approving, the 2016 Budget and 2016 Annual Plan of Operations. Due to the requirement for District Administrator Chris Evans to attend a training, the January 14th meeting will be rescheduled to a different date in January, yet to be determined. The Board of Supervisors reviewed and edited the Annual Plan of Operations for 2016 at the December meeting and is currently working on budget revisions. Those two documents will be posted when they are complete. January 4th, the Conservation District office will welcome Big Sky Watershed Corps (associated with Americorps) member Ashley Rivero. There will be a special meeting of the Lewis & Clark Conservation District on Thursday September 24 at 7:30 a.m. at 790 Colleen Street, Helena MT 59601. The purpose of the meeting is to review an emergency 310 for Mike Wirth for a project on Gladstone Creek.
Area 6 of the Montana Association of Conservation Districts had their annual Area meeting yesterday in White Sulphur Springs. It was a beautiful day, a bit breezy, but not bad. Districts came together to discuss the business of their area: proposed by-laws changes for MACD, reports from the various Government organizations including Natural Resource Conservation Service, Department of Natural Resources and Conservation, Department of Environmental Quality, Fish Wildlife and Parks, Montana Salinity Control Association and others. The Galt Ranch provided beef for the mid-day meal, "Wagyu beef". There were only 2 resolutions, Floodplain Resolution and the other on Priority Resource Concerns…
