The Sun River Watershed Group is celebrating 25 years as an organization on August 24, 2019. The tour will start and end at Fairfield High School – departing at 9 (arrive at 8:30 to sign in) and returning around 1:30. We’ll make stops on upper and lower Muddy Creek, visit a riparian buffer-style restoration project at Mill Coulee, then head to the Lowry Bridge BLM access area, finally looping back to Fairfield. Join the Broadwater Conservation District and Lewis & Clark Conservation District for a full-day seminar and tour highlighting Soil Health and Cover Cropping! Beginning at 8:30 with registration, the morning will be largely informational with a fantastic speaker from NRCS in North Dakota, and a presentation on some cover crops done in Lewis & Clark County by local producer, Tim Dusenberry. After a pulled pork sandwich lunch, we'll board the bus with tour stops at Bruce Seed Farm, a stop and a Townsend area cover crop and back to the Staubach to look at their operation.
