Elk Creek Road Update

Lewis and Clark County has no plans to move the road at this time or do additional work to the roadway.  The berms built are within the County’s 60’ right-of-way.  The purpose was to ‘nudge’ the stream back to the south, away from the road.  This approach was selected as it was the only way the Army Corps of Engineers would grant a permit to move the water off the road.  The work was solely done to restore access to areas west of the EK5 bridge.  The County sees it as temporary because the creek will likely flood again and…

Flood Information Needed

  The program that was utilized in 2018's Augusta flood event was through the Farm Service Agency, federal funds. There is a possibility that they will be able to do another sign up, but it's not assured.  Please contact the Helena FSA office at 406-449-5000 ext. 2 to let them know about losses of fencing etc. and also livestock losses (livestock losses within 30 days). Meeting changes-July and August

Due to some conflicts, we are rescheduling the July board meeting to July 19th, 2018 and right now, the August meeting is cancelled.  We may end up having to schedule a meeting in August just to deal with stream permits, but at this time, we are not planning a meeting in August.
