Board of Supervisors

The Lewis & Clark Conservation District has an elected Board of Supervisors. In 2025, the District formally changed our residency ordinance to 4 areas, where the supervisors who are elected in those areas, must live in the areas. There are an additional 3 supervisors who are elected at large, from anywhere within the Conservation District boundaries.

Associate Supervisors are advisory to the District and there are no residency requirements for them.

If you, or someone you know, might be interested in becoming a Supervisor or an Associate Supervisor, please fill this out and return it to admin@lewisandclarkcd.org.

Elena Frederick
Supervisor

Elena Frederick joined the board as an Associate Supervisor early in 2025 and after the District adjusted their residency ordinance, was appointed to fill one of the "at large" positions as a full supervisor. Elena feels that she has a lot to offer the Conservation District since, as a Helena area resident since 1982, she and her husband have been involved in owning and developing raw land for pasture, cattle, sheep and other farm life. Elena says that they learned, experimented through many trials and errors, succeeded and shared those lessons with others. Elena has also been involved in real estate and was a teacher which in turn, has encouraged others to appreciate Helena and the surrounding community. Elena is retired now but wants to continue to share what she may have to offer.
