Riparian Management Workshop

This workshop, sponsored by the Lewis and Clark Conservation District, and partially funded by a grant from the MACD Programs, will be held on September 14th and will begin at 8:30 am.  We'll start the day at the Augusta Youth Center, next door to the Augusta Senior Center, for the morning portion and lunch provided by the Buckhorn Bar.   The afternoon will be in the field at a landowner's property on Elk Creek. 2021 Practices Cost Share Program

The Lewis & Clark Conservation District Board welcomes applications for our 2021 Cost Share Program within Lewis & Clark County.  All projects have to be done within Lewis & Clark County and with private landowners only (no agencies will qualify). Application deadline for 2021 is November 13, 2020.  Projects must be implemented between January 1 2021 and December 31, 2021. The Cost-Share program is available to any private sector landowner with property within Lewis & Clark County.  There is a limit of one project per person or group per year.  All projects must be completed within one year of approval. …

Conservation District Cost Share Program

The Lewis & Clark Conservation District allocates a portion of our budget every year to a few cost share projects with landowners.  These projects can be everything from a weed/re-seed project or culvert replacement, to a pipeline or stockwater project.   Deadline to apply is November 13, 2019 for the 2020 calendar year.  Projects must be completed before the end of 2020.  Up to $2500 is available for a $5000 project with a 50/50 match. Flood Information Needed

  The program that was utilized in 2018's Augusta flood event was through the Farm Service Agency, federal funds. There is a possibility that they will be able to do another sign up, but it's not assured.  Please contact the Helena FSA office at 406-449-5000 ext. 2 to let them know about losses of fencing etc. and also livestock losses (livestock losses within 30 days). Montana Focused Conservation-A District Perspective
