Meagher County District Technician Description Duties and responsibilities: Work directly with landowners to initiate and implement conservation practices, prepare reports for funding agencies and provide monthly reports to the Meagher County Conservation District. Once again, mother nature has stymied us!  The morning meeting with the Cascade County Conservation District and the afternoon regular meeting have both been cancelled due to bad weather. It's likely that since this meeting date was so close to the March meeting date (March 8) that we will not reschedule February's meeting.

2018 Winter Grazing Seminar

In spite of crazy weather and terrible roads, attendance was good at the Winter Grazing Seminar at the Colonial Raddison Hotel in Helena with between 90 and 130 depending on the day.  We had one speaker who had to cancel, but overall, day one was a very good seminar. I'm planning to upload the Power Point presentations to our website at some point so if you missed out, you'll get so see them.

The next regular meeting of the Lewis & Clark Conservation District will be February 15, 2018 at 1 p.m.  It will be held at the USDA Service Center Conference room, 790 Coleen Street, Helena MT.  In the event that the Federal Government is shut down, the meeting location will be at the DNRC building in the Russell Conference Room, 1539 11th Ave, Helena MT 59601. 2018 Weed Cost Share Program

The Lewis & Clark Conservation District has opened up the 2018 Weed Cost Share Program application period. This program is funded with some extra money that the Conservation District has and provides 50/50 cost share for chemical (including surfactants) or a commercial applicator.  It also covers re-seeding if you have an approved plan, and biological controls, or a combination of the strategies.
