Lewis and Clark Conservation District is excited to announce we will be hosting a fall photo contest. The theme is fall colors although we encourage entries to include aspects of the Conservation District’s mission statement such as agriculture, natural resources, education, and community. XX Bar Farm & Ranch

A few years ago, Lewis & Clark Conservation District sponsored a grant for a local farmer and rancher, Tim Dusenberry of the XX Bar Farm & Ranch.  The grant was for a pilot project to look at doing cover cropping for soil health improvement. Tim has expanded on that operation and recently was interviewed on the Montana Public Radio Home Ground with Brian Kahn.  Tim talks about how he got interested in working on improving soil health and other innovations that he's made with mob grazing and other techniques. Sun River Watershed Group Turns 25!!

The Sun River Watershed Group is celebrating 25 years as an organization on August 24, 2019. The tour will start and end at Fairfield High School – departing at 9 (arrive at 8:30 to sign in) and returning around 1:30. We’ll make stops on upper and lower Muddy Creek, visit a riparian buffer-style restoration project at Mill Coulee, then head to the Lowry Bridge BLM access area, finally looping back to Fairfield.
