Lewis and Clark Conservation District and County creating Augusta work group for flood mitigation efforts

Flood Information Needed
The program that was utilized in 2018's Augusta flood event was through the Farm Service Agency, federal funds. There is a possibility that they will be able to do another sign up, but it's not assured. Please contact the Helena FSA office at 406-449-5000 ext. 2 to let them know about losses of fencing etc. and also livestock losses (livestock losses within 30 days). June Board Meeting-rescheduled!
The next regular meeting of the Lewis & Clark Conservation District has been rescheduled to June 20, 2019. It will take place at 8:30 a.m. at the Dearborn Community Center on Highway 434, outside of Wolf Creek Montana. All meetings of the Conservation District are open to the public. Public Hearing
The Lewis and Clark Conservation District will hold a public hearing on Monday, June 17, 2019 from 9-10 am at the Helena USDA Service Center, 790 Colleen Street, Helena, Montana. The purpose of the public hearing will be to review the Conservation District budget and to consider continuing to levy a permissive medical mill to cover employee benefits. Range Improvement Loan Program
The Montana Department of Natural Resources and Conservation (DNRC) offers a low interest loan program as an incentive for private landowners to do range improvement practices. Currently the rate is 1.5% and there is a maximum loan amount of $75,000. Repayment is scheduled for a maximum of 10 years with annual payments. Montana Range Days is hosted this year by the Beaverhead Conservation District. It will be held June 17-19th in Dillon. If students from Lewis & Clark County would like to attend, the Lewis & Clark CD offers scholarships of at least 1/2 registration and for the first few who apply, will cover full registration with the help of a local donor.
